1.      About FCD

1.1 The promoter of this competition is Foreign Currency Direct PLC (referred to in these terms as “FCD”), a public limited company in England and Wales (company number: 05082565) with its head office and registered address at Currencies Mews, Badminton Court, Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0DD. FCD is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (register reference 902022) for the issuing of electronic money.

2. The competition

2.1        The title of the competition is “Win a free IPAD from FCD.”
2.2        You can win a free Apple iPad from FCD by:
       (a)        completing and returning FCD’s competition entry form which includes guessing the interbank exchange rate, to four decimal places, to purchase Euro using pounds sterling at midday on 13 December 2019; and
       (b)        being the person whose guess is closest to the interbank exchange rate specified in clause 2.3.
2.3        FCD shall use the interbank exchange rate displayed as the bid price for GBP  EUR on the following weblink (https://www.currencies.co.uk/live-exchangerates/) as the interbank exchange rate, for the purposes of clause 2.22.2.

3. How to enter

3.1        The competition will run from 8:00 a.m. on 19 November 2019 to 23:59 on 20 November 2019 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
3.2        All competition entries must be received by a member of FCD’s staff at the Movers & Storers Show, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. A member of staff will usually be at FCD’s stand at the show.
3.3        All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.4        To enter the competition:
       (a)       complete the entry form, which you can obtain from:
       (i)        FCD’s stand at the Movers & Storers Show; or
       (ii)       a member of FCD’s staff at the Movers & Storers Show; and
       (b)      return the completed entry form by the Closing Date to:
       (i)       FCD’s stand at the Movers & Storers Show; or
       (ii)      a member of FCD’s staff at the Movers & Storers Show
3.5        No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.
3.6        FCD will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause.
3.7        By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.10      The competition entries will be judged by a panel of three judges, based on who is closest to guessing the interbank exchange rate referred to in clause 2.3. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final. In the event of a tie, the names of the entries which are tied will be put into a hat with one name drawn, the person’s name which is drawn will be the winner.

4. Eligibility

4.1        The competition is only open to all persons aged 18 years or over, except:
       (a)        employees of FCD or its holding or subsidiary companies;
       (b)        employees of agents or suppliers of FCD or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
       (c)        members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.2        In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. FCD may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3        FCD will not accept competition entries that are:
       (a)        completed by third parties or in bulk;
       (b)        illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
       (c)        photocopies and not originals; or
       (d)        incomplete.
4.4        There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.5        FCD reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.6        Competition entries cannot be returned.

5. The prize

5.1        The prize is an Apple iPad and only one is available to be won.
5.2        There is no cash alternative for the prize.
5.3        The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
5.4        You do not have to claim the prize. You will supply your contact details as part of the competition entry form and FCD shall contact you if you have won the prize.

6. Winners

6.1        The decision of the judges nominated by FCD is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2        FCD will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable on or after 13 December 2019 (the “Announcement Date”), using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. FCD will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
6.3        FCD must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation FCD will send the surname and county of the prize winner and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails rjh@currencies.co.uk or writes to the address set out in clause 1 (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Announcement Date.
6.4        If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact FCD rjh@currencies.co.uk. In such circumstances, FCD must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Claiming the prize

7.1        Please allow 30 days from the Announcement Date for delivery of the prize.
7.2        The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3        FCD will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 14 days of the Announcement Date, FCD reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.4        FCD does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8. Limitation of liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, FCD, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of FCD, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Data protection and publicity

9.1        FCD will only process your personal information as set out in the https://www.currencies.co.uk/privacy-policy/. See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

10. General

10.1        If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, FCD may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
10.2        FCD reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3        These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
